FotoArt5.0-CM First Workshop

On June 16, the Autonomous University of Madrid hosted the first workshop of the FotoArt5.0–CM project, coordinated by IMDEA Energy. The event brought together the research teams that make up the consortium and served as a starting point for in-person collaboration between groups.

Throughout the morning, a total of 17 short scientific presentations were delivered, addressing key topics such as photocatalysis, the electrochemical reduction of CO₂, nanomaterial synthesis, solar catalysis, the development of multifunctional materials, and new applications of robotics and optical sensors in laboratories. The presentations highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the project and the diversity of technological approaches that converge in a shared agenda focused on sustainability.

The meeting concluded with an internal coordination session of the management and scientific committees, during which the project’s next steps were outlined. This first workshop not only provided an opportunity to share progress but also strengthened synergies among the different groups and laid the foundation for ongoing collaboration.

R&D FotoArt5.0-CM Program

FotoArt5.0-CM aims to create the first generation of autonomous laboratories in the Madrid region as enabling technologies in the fight against climate change through the development of artificial photosynthesis technologies. This innovative laboratory will use artificial intelligence and robotics as enabling tools to accelerate the development of advanced materials that will have a significant impact on other energy technologies, promoting clean and sustainable solutions. This pioneering initiative will position itself as a benchmark in enabling technologies for energy research, establishing Madrid as a leader in the research and development of cutting-edge energy and digital technologies.
