The different research groups come together through FotoArt-CM with the aim of producing sustainable fuels and chemicals through artificial photosynthesis processes. The groups and laboratories show an enormous complementarity not only in scientific, but also in scientific equipment and infrastructures. The various groups make available to the consortium a series of unique scientific equipment that allows them to be at the forefront of each of their fields:
→ Infrastructures for the synthesis and characterization of catalysts, homogeneous and heterogeneous (COF, MOF), organic-inorganic hybrid materials, nanostructured photocatalysts, organometallic molecular complexes, novel electrolytes, proteins and other biological macromolecules.
→ Unique equipment such as NAPXPS, Near Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (unique in its genus in southern Europe), CNT macroscopic fibre synthesis reactor with large-scale molecular control (10 km/day) and unique instrumentation related to vacuum technology that allows unprecedented control over the essential parameters in the manufacture of nanoparticles.
→ Characterization by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Paramagnetic Electronic Resonance (EPR), synchrotron access, transient absorption spectroscopy, as well as tunnel effect microscopy (STM), gas chromatography, X-ray diffraction, etc.
→ Photoreactors at laboratory and pilot plant scale.
