150-UAI laboratory (Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry, CSIC)
The Technical Research Support Unit of the Institute of Catalysis and Petroleum chemistry (UA-ICP) accomplishes the main part of the textural, structural and chemical characterization of the materials synthesized and tested by the researchers of the ICP and offers its services to external customers from private companies and other Organisms (Universities, OPIs, etc.)
The multidisciplinary nature of the research, allows for a wide range of techniques commonly used in materials characterization: X-Ray diffraction, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), BET surface area and pore size distribution analysis by gas adsorption, Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry (MIP), Chemisorption (NH3, H2, CO...) and Thermo-programmed experiments (TPD, TPO, TPR).
The UA-ICP works under the protocol of a certified Quality Management System according to the UNE-EN ISO-9001 standard (granted by AENOR) for the analysis of different materials by using the adsorption-desorption isotherms, polycrystalline X-ray diffraction, Hg porosimetry, and UV-Vis - NIR spectroscopy. The UA-ICP has also been awarded with the IQNet certificate. The Technical Research Support Unit belongs to the CAM Laboratories Network (REDLAB, ref 150) and to the CSIC Scientific-Technical Services Network.
Currently, the UA-ICP, participates in the Photo-Art-CM Project, funded by the Technologies 2018 R&D Program of activities among research groups of the Madrid Autonomous Community, by giving help and technical support to the Groups of the Consortium.
Techniques available in the UA are:
- Textural Characterization
- Structural Characterization
- Chemical Analysis
